Written and reviewed by a physician
Diabetes Health Library
Practical, medically reviewed guidance for patients in Pakistan, written around the food, routines, and questions that actually come up in consultations.
About this library
What you'll find here, and where to start
This library covers the ground that actually decides how diabetes goes in Pakistan: food and daily meals, blood sugar readings and what they mean, medicines and when they change, the complications worth preventing early, and fasting safely in Ramadan. The articles are not translations of foreign leaflets. They are written around roti, rice, fruit chaat, sehri and iftar, and the questions patients here ask in real consultations.
Every article is written and medically reviewed by Dr. Mahboob Ahmad personally, a consultant physician with FCPS (Medicine) and 14 years of clinical practice, and re-checked when guidelines change. There are no guest bloggers and no content farms behind any page here. How that standard works, including sourcing and corrections, is set out in the editorial policy.

If you are new to all of this, four articles do the heaviest lifting:
- Blood sugar levels chart: the reference ranges for fasting, post-meal, and random readings, so you know what your glucometer is telling you.
- Understanding HbA1c: the three-month average test that matters more than any single reading.
- A Pakistani diet plan for diabetes: a full day of desi meals that keeps sugar steadier, from breakfast to dinner.
- Roti and diabetes: the most asked question in consultations, answered with portions and pairings instead of a flat "no".
Read those four and you will understand your own reports better than most patients ever get the chance to. Then browse the full collection below.
