Metabolic Health Checkup
Blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and weight rarely move on their own. They move together. This checkup looks at the whole system, not one number in isolation.
- 100% online · phone or video
- 9 AM – 11 PM · 7 days
- MBBS, FCPS (Medicine)
Why these numbers need to be read together
It is common to treat high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar as three separate problems, prescribed for separately and reviewed separately. In practice, they very often share the same root causes: excess weight, insulin resistance, and inactivity. Improving one, through the right lifestyle change, frequently improves the others too. A checkup that looks at all of them together, rather than in isolation, gives a far more accurate picture of your real metabolic risk.
What's included
- Blood sugar review: fasting glucose and HbA1c
- Blood pressure assessment
- Cholesterol and lipid profile review
- Weight, BMI, and waist circumference
- A single, combined risk picture and prioritised action plan, not four separate prescriptions
Who this is for
Anyone over 35 with a family history of diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure; anyone carrying excess weight, especially around the waist; and anyone who has been separately told their sugar, pressure, or cholesterol is "a bit high" without a combined plan to address it.
The panel
What the checkup covers
A metabolic health checkup in Pakistan usually means a stack of lab slips nobody explains. Here it means a defined panel, read as one picture. The tests marked "if indicated" are added only when your history suggests they will change a decision.
| Test | What it shows | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| HbA1c | Average blood sugar over about three months | The most reliable single marker of long-term control |
| Fasting glucose | Sugar level after an overnight fast | Catches early rises that an average can hide |
| Lipid profile | Cholesterol and triglycerides | High sugar and high cholesterol multiply each other's harm to the heart |
| Blood pressure review | Your recent readings, read in context | A silent driver of heart, kidney, and eye damage |
| Weight and waist | BMI and waist circumference | Waist size tracks the deep fat that drives insulin resistance |
| Thyroid function, if indicated | Whether a slow thyroid is at work | Can stall weight loss and mimic ordinary fatigue |
| Kidney function (creatinine) | How well your kidneys are filtering | Damaged silently by years of high sugar and pressure |
| Liver function | Enzymes that often reflect fatty liver | Fatty liver travels with insulin resistance, and is usually reversible |
| Vitamin D / B12, if indicated | Two deficiencies common in Pakistan | Low levels cause tiredness often blamed on sugar |
To make sense of a report you already have, Understanding HbA1c is a good place to start.

Who should get a metabolic checkup
Not everyone needs a yearly panel. But if any of the following describes you, a yearly look at these numbers is cheap insurance, because everything on this page is easier to turn around when caught early:
- Adults over 35 with a family history of diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure
- Anyone carrying extra weight, particularly around the waist
- People in sedentary work: desk jobs, driving, shopkeeping, long seated hours
- Women with PCOS, or a history of diabetes during pregnancy
- Anyone with a past borderline sugar, pressure, or cholesterol value that was never followed up
One panel, one combined plan
Message on WhatsApp any day between 9 AM and 11 PM, get your exact test list, and have every report read with you on the call.
Fully online
How the online checkup works
Only the blood draw happens in person; everything else follows the same process as every service here, described on the how it works page.
Labs near you
You receive the exact test list on WhatsApp and have the tests done at any trusted laboratory near your home.
Reports read with you
On the call, Dr. Mahboob Ahmad goes through every report with you. This is a genuine online sugar test review: each value explained in plain Urdu or English, not just marked normal or high.
A written summary after
Your results, risk picture, and action plan arrive in writing on WhatsApp, so nothing depends on memory.
After the reports
What happens after the results
Three outcomes are possible, and each is handled honestly. First, everything is clear: you are told exactly that, given prevention advice, and booked for next year, with nothing extra sold to you. Second, something is borderline: this is the most valuable outcome, a warning delivered early, and you leave with a prevention plan built on food, activity, and weight, plus a retest date. Third, a result sits in the diagnostic range: the conversation then shifts calmly from prevention to treatment, whether that means structured diabetes treatment or a supervised plan for weight or cholesterol. A diagnosis made at a routine checkup, before symptoms appear, is a diagnosis made at the best possible time.
The local reality
Why yearly matters in Pakistan
Pakistan is not a neutral background for metabolic health. The IDF Diabetes Atlas (11th edition) reports the highest national diabetes prevalence in the world here: 31.4% of adults, around 34.5 million people, with roughly one in four of them not yet diagnosed, and a projection of 70.2 million by 2050. Those undiagnosed years are exactly what a yearly checkup exists to catch: the question for most families is not whether metabolic risk exists in the household, but whether it is found while still easy to treat.
Checkup questions
Asked before booking
Which tests do I need before the checkup?
After you message on WhatsApp, you receive the exact test list for your case. The core panel is HbA1c, fasting glucose, and a lipid profile; kidney, liver, thyroid, or vitamin tests are added only when your history calls for them. All are routine tests available at any reliable laboratory in Pakistan.
How can a full checkup be done online?
The blood tests are done at a laboratory near you, and everything else happens on the call: every report is read with you, every value is explained, and one combined plan is built from the results. A written summary follows on WhatsApp afterwards.
How often should the checkup be repeated?
For most adults with a risk factor, once a year is the sensible rhythm. If a result comes back borderline, retesting is brought forward so a drifting number is caught while it is still easy to turn around. Your retest date is agreed on the call, not left vague.
What if a report comes back abnormal?
You will hear it straight, without drama. A borderline result leads to a prevention plan with a retest date; a result in the diagnostic range leads to a proper treatment plan. Either way, you leave knowing what the numbers mean, and no medicine is ever changed without supervision.
